Safety Stop on Little River Turnpike Nets Child Porn Arrest

After stopping a hazardous materials truck at a routine truck safety inspection on July 7 around 4 p.m. on Little River Turnpike near Annandale, officers discovered that the driver was a wanted fugitive from New York. Motor Carrier Safety Unit officers placed the driver out of service for this violation and prepared to have the truck towed away.  During this process, an officer saw an oddly shaped potato chip bag stuffed in the side panel of the door of the tanker. Among the contents of the bag were two hard drives, later discovered to contain hundreds of images of child pornography. Officers contacted detectives from the department’s Child Exploitation Unit who immediately responded to her request for assistance.

Dennis Orlinkowski

Detectives obtained a warrant and following a search of the driver’s Burke home on July 8, police charged Dennis Orlinkowski, 51, of 5105 Arrit Court with 10 counts of possession of child pornography and being a fugitive from justice. He was arrested and is being held without bond at the Fairfax Adult Detention Center. Orlinkowski was a fugitive in Buffalo, New York stemming from a warrant for failure to register as a sex offender. The investigation is continuing.
