Reston Man Wins $200,000 in Powerball Drawing

Alvarez LeCesne of Reston is a very lucky man. He matched the first five numbers in the January 22 Powerball drawing to win the game’s second prize of $200,000.

He bought the winning ticket at the 7-Eleven at 2973 Chainbridge Road in Reston. He used Easy Pick, allowing the computer to randomly select the numbers on his ticket.

“I was elated,” he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. “It feels wonderful to win.”

The winning numbers were 30-31-34-45-51 and the Powerball was 23. His ticket was the only one in Virginia to match the first five numbers in that drawing and one of six nationwide.

Mr. LeCesne, who is the executive director of a non-profit organization, said he had no immediate plans for his winnings.
