Farifax City Police Make Arrest in Attempted Robbery Case
City of Fairfax Police have charged a 23 year old New Jersey man with attempted robbery. On January 22, 2010, officers responded to investigate an attempted robbery which occurred in the parking lot of a gas station located at 10100 Fairfax Boulevard. The victim had met with the suspect for the purpose of purchasing a laptop computer advertised on the Internet. The suspect pointed a gun at the victim and demanded money. The victim yelled for help and the suspect fled the area on foot.
The Criminal Investigations Division investigated the case and subsequently obtained warrants for the suspect. On March 5, Terry Ackom of 249 Belleville Avenue, Bloomfield, N. J. was taken into custody at a residence in the 10100 block of Mosby Woods Drive and served with warrants charging him with one count of attempted robbery (Section 18.2-26 of the Code of Virginia) and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (Section 18.2-53.1). Ackom was transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where he was held without bond.
