Fairfax Homicide Victim Identified as DC Resident
Fairfax County police have identified the victim as Morgan Myatt, 23, of 1311 Holly Street, NW, Washington DC.
Previous Release – Woman Shot in Engleside Area
Mount Vernon Police District – On Wednesday, March 24 around 7:26 a.m.,
Fairfax County police responded to the intersection of Francisco Way and
Orinda Court for reports of a person who had been shot. Police found an
adult woman deceased inside a parked vehicle. Police also recovered a
gun at the scene.
Later that day around 4 p.m., Arlington County police responded to a
weapons call where Antoine Avery, 25, of 6112 Crown Grant Drive in
Spotsylvania, Virginia, was found shot to death in an apparent suicide
in the 1200 block of South Quincy Street. Fairfax County police have
concluded that Avery is the suspect in this homicide.
Police believe that the victim and suspect were acquaintances.
